Over 150 years since we founded in Meiji era, we are making washi by hand.
We are the largest company in Echizen as studio making washi by hand. We have a large 2m x 2.7m Sukibune, or paper-making vat, and are able to make big paper for Japanese painting or wall paper. Inheriting the techniques of the first Heizaburo Iwano, and keeping it. Our paper is a favorite of modern Japanese painters. The masters such as Taikan Yokoyama, Hoan Kosugi and others love to use our hemp paper and have left behind many masterpieces. In addition, we have inherited the ancient techniques of papermaking patterns of Uchigumo, Tobikumo and Mizutama.
